Sketch in cold colours

for you, please see challenge card further down.

Products used
Stamps:
"Let It Snow" by Kaisercraft and "God Jul" by InkyWings/ hÄnglarWings
Inks: VersaFine Clair "Nocturne" and "Green Oasis" by Tsukineko, Distress Ink "Mowed Lawn" and "Rustic Wilderness" by Tim Holtz/ Ranger

The AAA Cards challenge blog is filled with fun, beautiful and inspiring cards by our special guest designer for this challenge, Arlene, and the amazing Design Team, so hurry up and click on over and be inspired. Don't forget to visit the DT members individual blogs and show them some love.

I hope you're inspired to play along with us as we can't wait to see your take on the challenge sketch! You until January 6th to create, upload and link your cards to the AAA Cards challenge blog. Hope to see you there! Don't forget all entries have to be CAS (Clean And Simple), see definition card below.

This is my last card for the AAA Cards Challenge as a member of the Design Team as I've decided to step down from the team. It's been a difficult decision to make, and I thought long and hard before making it, but my life is very busy and with there being a new challenge every two weeks I have struggled with finding the time to keeping up with the duties of being a DT member. I will miss everyone at AAA Cards, it's been so inspiring being a member of the team and I've learned so much from everyone. Thank you so much! An extra thank you to Maaike for running the challenges! I wish all the DT members, old, present and new, all the best for the future!

I will also miss all of you who play along with the challenges, and I promise you are in for some really fun challenges next year, and the inspiration from the DT is amazing (I've had a sneak peek of most of their work for next year)!

An extra big THANK YOU to eveyone who has taken the time to comment on my AAA Cards blog posts!

I will continue to create and I'm still on the Design Team for AAA Birthday, AAA Cards sister challenge, so you are all very welcome back here to the blog for inspiration, and I wouldn't say "no" to a comment or two 😉

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

AAA Cards Challenge 254 - Black, White and Gold

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It's time for a new CAS card challenge at AAA Card challenges.
The theme for the fortnight is

Black, White and Gold

please see challenge card further down.

Here's my take on the challenge

With Christmas approaching, and inspired by the challenge card, I decided to make a Christmas card. I die cut a circle of stars on a piece of white cardstock, placed a piece of sparkly gold paper behind the cut out stars, and addhered the whole thing to a black card base. I die cut a Christmas greeting from black cardstock and glued it to my card. Maybe a few more layers than normal for a CAS card, but it is almost Christmas and for Christmas a little bit extra is OK in my book 😉

I could have made it more CAS by stamping and heat embossing the stars in gold on a card front and addhered it to a black card base, or even better only used a white card base and stamped and heat embossed the stars in gold and stamped and heat embossed a black sentiment directly on the card base. But as I said "it's almost Christmas..."

Products used
Dies: "
Patterned Frames - Stars SBD057" by Simple and Basic and "God Jul" by PY Hobby
Papers: Cardstock in black and white, Glitter paper all from my stash

The AAA Cards challenge blog is filled with beautiful cards by the talented design team, so head on over to be inspired. We can't wait to see your CAS card creations in black, white and gold.

You have until December 9th to create, upload and link you card to the challenge blog. Hope to see you there!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, I really appreciate it!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

Autumn leaf and gelli plate

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing a card I made after having a play with my gelli plate.
I'm new to gelli plate printing and have only tried creating a few backgrounds before, but this time I was inspired by the current challenge at AAA Cards

Fall/ Leaves

So I went out into the garden and picked a few leaves to play around with together my my gelli plate. As AAA Cards is all about CAS (clean and simple) cards with lots of white (could be any colour) space I went with a single leaf for my first print, and card.

I made the print directly on a card base, and added an autumn greeting.

There is still time to join in this fun challenge over on AAA Cards challenge blog. You have until November 25th to create, upload and link your autumnal cards to the challenge blog.

Hope you'll join us!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

AAA Cards Challenge 253 - Fall/Leaves

Hello Crafty Friends,

It's time for a new Clean and Simple (CAS) card challenge at AAA Cards Challenges,
and the theme for the fortnight is

Fall/ Leaves

please see challenge card further down.

Here's my take

My card is a one layer card with lots of 'white' (empty, can be any colour) space on it, just the way we like it at AAA Cards. I've only used two stamps, ink and some markers for this card, so very quick and easy. The sentiment reads 'It's a comfort/consolation that autumn is so beautiful' (free translation)

Products used
Stamp sets:
'Wild Meadow' by Mama Elephant and 'Halloween' by hÄnglar & Wings
Ink: Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and VersaFine Clare 'Nocturne' both by Tsukineko
Markers: Copic

For this challenge we have the honour of having the former DT Melissa as our guest designer, and her card is gorgeous! The challenge blog is filled with beautiful autumnal inspiration, not only by Melissa but also by the DT, so if I were you I would hurry on over to AAA Cards challenge blog to check out all the work.

After checking out the challenge blog I'm sure you're filled with inspiration and can't wait to get stuck in creating your own autumnal card, and we can't wait to see it! You have until November 25th to create, upload and link your card to AAA Cards challenge blog, and remember we want to see clean and simple (CAS) cards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, and reading all the way to the end!
I really appreciate it!

AAA Cards Challenge 248 - Add a Tag or Ticket

 Good Morning/Evening,

It's time for a new challenge at AAA Cards, and this fortnight we want you to

Add a Tag or Ticket

to your CAS card, see challenge card further down.

Here's my take on the challenge

I started by doing a bit of ink blending through a stencil on a card panel. Then I cut out a tag from the panel, stamped with a word stamp using the same ink as I ink blended with. I placed the tag inside the hole on the panel and stamped some flowers using an embossing ink and sprinkled over some Distress Glaze in the same colour as the ink I used previously. I heat embossing the flowers and addhered the panel to a card. The tag got a string and some 3D foam on the back before being attached to the card.

Products used
Stencil:
Mini stencil set 52 by Tim Holtz/ Stampers Anonymous
Ink: Distress Ink "Spiced Marmalade" by Tim Holtz/ Ranger, VersaMark "Watermark stamp pad" by Tsukineko
Stamps: "Grattis Bakgrund 20020123" by Gummiapan, "Flower Silhouettes" by MFT
Die: "Framelits Tag Collection 658784" by Tim Holtz/ Sizzix
Embossing powder: Distress Glaze "Spiced Marmalade" by Tim Holtz/ Ranger

I hope you've been inspired to play along with us!
I can recommend a visit to AAA Cards challenge blog for more inspiration from our talented guest designer this fortnight, Hannelie, and the amazing design team. Don't forget to visit their blogs and give them some love!

Sketch for a teen card

please see the challenge card further down.

Here's my take on the challenge

To create my card I started by creating  two stencils, one of a basketball player and one of a basketball. I ink the basketball player through the stencil using some black ink and masked him of before ink blending the two basketballs to go behind him.

I hope you'll play along with us! You have until September 2nd to create, upload and link your card to the AAA Cards challenge blog. Please remember we want to see clean and simple cards (CAS cards), definition can be found on the challenge blog. AAA Cards Challenge 246 - Sketch + optional twist A Baby card

 Good Morning/Evening,

It's time for a new CAS Card challenge at AAA Cards,
and this fortnight we have a

sketch

for you, please see the challenge card further down.
There is an optional twist of a Baby card, but as said it's optional.

Here's my take on the challenge

I decided to skip the optional twist since I have no need for a baby card at the moment. I have some people close to me who are/will be making changes in their lives, which can be a bit scary, so I decided to create a card of encouragement instead. I stamped and heat embossed some cute little butterflies in a rainbow of colours. I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment "without change there would be no butterflies". A quick and easy, clean and simple, CAS, card.

Product used
Stamp sets:
"Antisocial Butterfly" by Visible Image, "Sittande Larv" by hÄnglar & Wings
Inks: VesaFine CLAIR "Charming Pink", "Summertime", "Cheerful", "Blue Belle", "Purple Delight" and "Nocturne"
Embossing powder: "Clear Gloss Super Fine" by WOW!

 Hello,

It's time for a new CAS card challenge over at AAA Cards,
and the theme for this fortnight is

Monochrome

and here's my take on the challenge

I was inspired by the green on the challenge card, please see below, and the gorgeous swirly leafy stamp by Hero Arts. I started of by stamping the text in the background with a green distress oxide, I then stamped the swirly vines on top using embossing ink and sprinkled it with green embossing glaze before heat embossing it. The sentiment "Grattis/ Congrats" is an old die cut I found in my stash.

Products used
Stamps:
Create with Hapiness WTK160 by Vicky Papaioannou/ Stamperia, Leafy Vines by Hero Arts

AAA Cards Challenge 239 - Choose a side

 Hello and Good Morning/afternoon/ evening,

Are you ready for a new CAS card challenge?
I hope you are, as today is the start of a new challenge over at AAA Cards.
This time we would like you to

Choose a Side

Hot or cold, which side of the colour wheel do you prefer?
I love them both, but for this challenge I could only pick one

As you can see I picked the cold side for this card, purples and greens to be exact. I love both purple and green, and as I've been playing a lot with hot/warm colours lately I felt it was time for a "cool" card.

The challenge blog over at AAA Cards is filled with beautiful CAS cards in hot or cold colours, created by the amazing design team and our talented guest designer for this challenge, Hannelie. So why not head on over to AAA Cards challenge blog for some more inspiration for your own hot or cold CAS card?! You have until May 13th to create, upload and link your card to the challenge blog. Hope you'll join us! Remember we want to see CAS cards, for definition please see below

If you want to know what products I've used and how I created my card, please keep reading.

Products used for my card
Stamp sets: "Delicate Floral Print" by Pinkfresh Studio, "Ännu mer Grattis" by hÄnglar & Wings
Stencils: "Delicate Floral Print" by Pinkfresh Studio
Inks: Distress Oxides " Shaded Lilac", "Villainous potion", "Twisted Citron", "Evergreen Bough" by Tim Holtz/ Ranger and VeraFine Clair "Nocturne" by Tsukineko
Die: "Outside In Stitched Rectangle" by Lawn Fawn
Embellishments: Enamel Dots " transparent" by Nellie's choice

I started by die cutting my card panel out of some white cardstock before stamping my flowers and leaves. As the "Delicate Floral Print" stamp is a "background" stamp I had the to cover the flowers the stamp that I didn't want to stamp before inking it up. I removed the "mask" and stamped the flowers and leaves I'd inked in one corner of the panel. I got out the coordinating stencils and inked the flowers and leaves. So quick and easy with stamps and stencils that coordinate! I stamped the sentiment and added some enamel dots to the panel, adhered it to the card base and my card was done.

I hope you've been inspired to play along with the challenge as I would love to see your CAS card in hot or cold colours!

Thank you for taking the time to read all the way here, I really appreciate it!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

AAA Cards Challenge 238 - Ripped/Torn Edges

 Hello Crafty Friends,
It's time for a new CAS card challenge at AAA Cards,
and the theme for this fortnight is

Ripped/Torn Edges

We want you to create (fake) ripped/torn edge(s)
somewhere on your card using masking technique.

I decided to go with a colourful square with ripped edges,
and here's how my card turned out.

For my card I ripped the edges of some post-it notes and taped them to my card with the torn sides facing inwards to create a square with ripped edges. I then ink blended the square using distress inks, and splattered some white acrylic paint before removing the post-it notes. To finish the card I stamped a flower and a sentiment.

AAA Card Challenge 237 - Shaped card + optional twist Easter

 Hello,

It's challenge time (again 😁),
today it's a new CAS card challenge over at AAA Cards
and the theme for this coming fortnight is

Shaped Card with the optional twist of Easter

Here's my take on the theme

As you can see I've opted to go with the twist, but you don't have to. Your card can be for any occasion, it doesn't have to be an Easter card as long as it's CAS and any shape but rectangular or square we're happy.

For more information and fun inspiration by the amazing design team please visit AAA Cards challenge blog

I hope you'll join us! You have until the 15th of April to create, upload and link you creations to the challenge blog. Please remember all cards entered have to be CAS!

AAA Cards definition of CAS

If you want to know how I created my card and what products I've used please contingue reading.

I started by die cutting my card base out of a piece of folded white cardstock. I placed the die just of the egde of the fold to create a sidefolded card. I then cut another egg out of a singel piece of cardstock, to use as the front to cover up the fold/ missing piece of the egg. I stamped and masked a hen and some Easter eggs on the card/ egg panel, and coloured my images using Copic markers. I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment, cut it out using a banner die and adhered it to the card/ egg panel. I adhered the panel to my egg shaped card base and the card was done.

Products used
Die sets: "Outside In Easter Egg Stackables" and "Everyday Sentiment Banners" both by lawn Fawn
Stamp sets: "Hönsgården" by hÄnglar & Wings
Markers: Copic

I hope you've been inspired to play along with this fun challenge!
Can't wait to see what shape you choose.

Doo-dloo-doo-doo-doo-doo.....

♩𝅘𝅥𝅮 I'm singing in the rain
Just singing in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again
I'm laughing at clouds
So dark up above
The sun's in my heart
And I'm ready for love..... ♩𝅘𝅥𝅮

Inspired by the old movie, and song, "Singin' in the rain" starring Gene Kelly.

This cute little bear from the "Beary Rainy Day" stamp set by Lawn Fawn is a perfect match for the movie/song, and I just had to create a card with him for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge #145 - Inspired by book, movie or song.

I hope you like my card!
This is a theme I really enjoy as I'm often inspired by music, especially the lyrics.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate you taking the time!

Today I don't feel like doing anything.....

 Hi,

It's not as bad as the title implies, it's just my card inspiration for today.
The current theme for the AAA Cards challenge is -

Inspired by a movie/song/book

I often get inspired by music, especially the lyrics, it doesn't even have to be the whole song sometimes it can be just a line/ sentence in the song. Like for this card, I was inspired by the first sentence of the lyrics to the "Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars.

The sentiment on this card reads "Today I'll do nothing. I did that yesterday too, but I didn't finish" (free translation). Sentiment stamp from the stamp set "Snorkigt #7" by hÄnglar&Wings goes so well with the "A.M. Dee #737" by Aall&Create.

Do you get inspired by Movies, songs or books?
If you do, why not give the fun challenge at AAA Cards a go. I would love to see what inspires you, and how you interpret it into a CAS card.

The challenge is up and running until the 1st of April so there's still time to create, upload and link your project to AAA Cards challenge blog.

Hope to see you there!

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

Baa Baa Black Sheep/ Bä Bä Vita Lamm

 Hello,

and happy monday and new week to you!

Today I'm sharing a card inspired by the old nursery rhyme/ childrens song "Baa baa black sheep/ Bä bä vita lamm" and the current challenge - "Inspired by a movie/song/book" at AAA Cards.

It's so difficult to colour black critters, all their features are just lost.
Well, well I did my best and that is good enough, I can't do more than that.....right?

Have you played along with the current challenge at AAA Cards yet?
If not, don't worry you have until the 1st of April to create, upload and link your creations to the challenge blog. I do hope you'll play along as I can't wait to see what movie/song/book inspires you!

AAA Cards Challenge 236 - Inspired by a movie/ song/ book

 Hi,

It's time for a new CAS card challenge over at AAA Cards,
and this time the theme of the challenge was picked by me, so I hope you like it! The theme is:

Inspired by a Movie (TV show), Song or a Book.

This is my take (or should I say one of my takes) of the challenge

I often find inspiration in music, mostly from the lyrics which probably stems from years of singing and learning the lyrics to numerous songs. For this card I have found inspiration from the lyrics in a song in one of my favourite movies growing up.

Can you guess the movie, and/or the song?

Products used
Dies: "
Brushstroke Flowers Mini" by Tim Holtz/ Sizzix
Stamps: "Sparkle In The Rain" by Visible Image and "Poppy Garden" by Altenew
Inks/Paints: "Distress Watercolor Pencils" by Tim Holtz/ Ranger
Embossing Powder: "Silver super fine detail" by Ranger

Here's the cue card

Have you guessed the movie, and or song for my inspiration yet?
Here's some hints; it's a musical, the story takes place in Europe and the lyrics goes

𝆔𝆕 Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things..... 𝅘𝅥𝅮𝅘𝅥𝅯

Yes, it's the song "My favorite Things" from the movie/ musical "Sound of Music"!

I hope you're inspired to play along, as we (especially me) would love to see what movies/songs/books inspire you, and how you interpret it in a card.

Remeber all cards have to be CAS (clean and simple with lots of empty space).
