AAA Cards Challenge 254 - Black, White and Gold

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It's time for a new CAS card challenge at AAA Card challenges.
The theme for the fortnight is

Black, White and Gold

please see challenge card further down.

Here's my take on the challenge

With Christmas approaching, and inspired by the challenge card, I decided to make a Christmas card. I die cut a circle of stars on a piece of white cardstock, placed a piece of sparkly gold paper behind the cut out stars, and addhered the whole thing to a black card base. I die cut a Christmas greeting from black cardstock and glued it to my card. Maybe a few more layers than normal for a CAS card, but it is almost Christmas and for Christmas a little bit extra is OK in my book 😉

I could have made it more CAS by stamping and heat embossing the stars in gold on a card front and addhered it to a black card base, or even better only used a white card base and stamped and heat embossed the stars in gold and stamped and heat embossed a black sentiment directly on the card base. But as I said "it's almost Christmas..."

Autumn leaf and gelli plate

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing a card I made after having a play with my gelli plate.
I'm new to gelli plate printing and have only tried creating a few backgrounds before, but this time I was inspired by the current challenge at AAA Cards

Fall/ Leaves

So I went out into the garden and picked a few leaves to play around with together my my gelli plate. As AAA Cards is all about CAS (clean and simple) cards with lots of white (could be any colour) space I went with a single leaf for my first print, and card.

I made the print directly on a card base, and added an autumn greeting.

There is still time to join in this fun challenge over on AAA Cards challenge blog. You have until November 25th to create, upload and link your autumnal cards to the challenge blog.

Hope you'll join us!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

AAA Cards Challenge 253 - Fall/Leaves

Hello Crafty Friends,

It's time for a new Clean and Simple (CAS) card challenge at AAA Cards Challenges,
and the theme for the fortnight is

Fall/ Leaves

please see challenge card further down.

Here's my take

My card is a one layer card with lots of 'white' (empty, can be any colour) space on it, just the way we like it at AAA Cards. I've only used two stamps, ink and some markers for this card, so very quick and easy. The sentiment reads 'It's a comfort/consolation that autumn is so beautiful' (free translation)

Products used
Stamp sets:
'Wild Meadow' by Mama Elephant and 'Halloween' by hÄnglar & Wings
Ink: Memento 'Tuxedo Black' and VersaFine Clare 'Nocturne' both by Tsukineko
Markers: Copic

For this challenge we have the honour of having the former DT Melissa as our guest designer, and her card is gorgeous! The challenge blog is filled with beautiful autumnal inspiration, not only by Melissa but also by the DT, so if I were you I would hurry on over to AAA Cards challenge blog to check out all the work.

After checking out the challenge blog I'm sure you're filled with inspiration and can't wait to get stuck in creating your own autumnal card, and we can't wait to see it! You have until November 25th to create, upload and link your card to AAA Cards challenge blog, and remember we want to see clean and simple (CAS) cards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by, and reading all the way to the end!
I really appreciate it!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

ATC - Visible Image September swap "Rusty"

 Hello,

Today I'm sharing my ATC, and card, for the September ATC swap at Visible Image Facebook group. It finally arrived safely at my swap partner's home in the UK.

The theme for September was

Rusty

and here's what I came up with

This was a really tricky theme, in my opinion. I tried a few different ideas, but nothing worked. In the end I decided to go with a rusty little robot. I stamped and masked of the robot. Then ink blended the background, before removing the stencil I applied some crackle paste and Distress embossing glaze to the brick background. After removing the mask I coloured the robot with markers and added some crackle paste to the screen/ face.

I also created a card to send together with my ATC to my swap parter, this is not mandatory for the swap.

AAA Birthday Game #55 - Large Sentiment

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It's November 1st (can you believe it?), and time for a new challenge at AAA Birthday. This month we invite you to create a birthday card with a

Large Sentiment

Please se challenge card further down.

Here's my take on the challenge

I started by creating a background for my large sentiment. Using Distress Oxides in a rainbow of colours I ink blended my background, and then to make it a bit more fun and cheerful I decided to try to create a bokeh effect, something I never tried before. I used some white ink and a circle stencil, and randomly inked white circles all over the colourful background. It's by no means perfect, but I do like how it turned out. To give the sentiment some dimension I die cut it twice and adhered together. I added a small banner, on which I had stamped and heat embossed the word birthday, to turn the sentiment into a birthday greeting. I gave the background a thin white border before adhering it to a card base.

Products used
Inks:
Distress Oxide inks; Salvaged Patina, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin and Picked Raspberry by Tim Holtz/ Ranger, Brilliance Moonlight White by Tsukineko
Stencil: "White Orbs" by Lavinia Stamps
Die: "Giant Sending Big Hugs" by Lawn Fawn
Stamp: "Baked with Love" by Lawn Fawn

Now it's your turn. We are really looking forward to seeing your birthday card creations with large sentiments on them. You have until November 30th to create, upload and link your card to the AAA Birthday challenge blog.

The challenge blog is filled with fun, creative and beautiful inspiration by my talented DT colleauges and our special guest designer for the month, Deborah, so don't forget to check out their cards, and visit their blogs.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate you taking the time!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!
