CiLi in Papers Jubileumstävling Nr 3 - Daylight

 Hi,

Time for another entry to the 15th Anniversary challenge at CiLi in Papers. This time the challenge, No3, is sponsored by Daylight Lamps, and the challenge was to - create someting on the theme of 15.

Taking a year out before going to Uni to go travelling requires a "Bon Voyage" card. 15 destinations on the travel plan. For the last "destination" I (selfishly) picked "home" as I want them to come back home and not settle somewhere else in the world.

I die cut 30 signs, two sets of "poles", the grass and the stone out of some cardstock, craft for the signs and pole and white for the grass and stone. Then I started ink blending my pieces for the signs, a darker piece to give the signs some depth and a lighter one for the top part of the signs. To get a woody effect on the signs I lightly dragged an ink pad over the signs. I stamped the destinations on the signs and assembled them. The die set "only" comes with six signs and a shorter pole, so I had to elongate the pole by placing one pole above the other. Before addhering the pole and the signs to my card front I added some blue to the background with a little Distress Oxide. I put the pole and signs together, and added some grass and a stone, coloured with Distress Inks, around the base of the pole. I gave the card panel a border and addhered it to my card base. Added a greeting and the card was done.
I really like how this card turned out. I very seldome create slimline cards, but with the pole being so tall I had no other option but to make a tall card. And as I said I really like how it turned out!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, I really appreciate it!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

CiLi in Papers Jubileumstävling Nr 5 - Tonic Studios

 Hello again,

I'm still having fun playing along with the 15th Anniversary challenges at CiLi in Papers. Today I've done something I haven't done in a very long time, I've created a scrapbook layout for challenge No 5, with the criterias to follow a sketch and use at least one product by Tonic Studios.

Here's the sketch

My layout is about my eldest son turning 15 and finally being old enough to ride/drive a moped. 15 is the legal age to drive a moped here in Sweden, and his birthday isn't until October so he had been waiting a looooong time.

I started by creating my own "patterned paper" using nuvo Shimmer Powder through a stencil. After the paper had dryed I used my Mini Guillotine Trimmer to cut all my paper. I stamped some tire tracks, and some blue "splatters", on the diagonal on my background. I placed my "patterned paper", another piece of patterned paper and some mirror card behind my photo. The titel "Äntligen Moppe" (finally moped, free translation) and my sons name was added, and some nuvo Crystal Drops along the tire tracks, and by the titel. I made a cut at the top of the layout and added a piece of my "patterned paper" behind it, before framing the layout with Mirror Card.

Products used by Tonic Studios
Mini Guillotine Trimmer
Mirror Card "Holo Waves"
nuvo Crystal Drops "Ebony Black"
nuvo Shimmer Powder "Violet Brocade" (to create my own "patterned paper")

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, I really appreciate it!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

CiLi in Papers Jubileumstävling Nr 6 - Sizzix

 Hi,

Playing along with the 15th Anniversary challenges at CiLi in Papers. The criteria for challenge No 6 was - to create a card using 15 dies by Sizzix.

For this challenge I wanted to create a top folded tagcard. At first I didn't know if I should use 15 die sets, 15 pieces I had cut out (diecuts) or actually 15 dies. I decided to go with the 15 dies. In all i used dies from six different die sets by Sizzix and Tim Holtz. I also used an embossing folder by Sizzix/ Tim Holtz.

I started by die cutting all my pieces I needed for the card. I had to do a lot of counting to get it right. I was quit lucky that some of the dies I chose gave me more than one die cut. Like the die for the flowers, one die - two flowers including the centre of the flowers. So that was really good. After I was done with all the die cutting, I ran the tag through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to give the tag some interest. Using my Distress Oxides I coloured the tag and the grass. Then it was time to assemble all the little pieces and turn them into a card. It was so much fun putting this card together.

Products used (all by Sizzix and/ or Tim Holtz
Dies sets;
"Bunny Games"
"Papercut Chicks, colorize"
"The Park"
"Celebrate, colorize"
"Bold Text #1"
"Framelits, Tag Collection"
Embossing Folder:
"Dotted"
Inks:
Distress Oxide Inks

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate you taking the time!

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!

CiLi in Papers Jubileumstävling nr 1 - hÄnglar & Wings

 Hello,

Last week CiLi in Papers celebrated their 15th birthday, CONGRATULATIONS!

The whole week they had a generous offer in the shop (and yes, I might have clicked home a few new goodies), and on their blog they hosted a new challenge/ competition every day, 6 in total. Luckily the challenges/ competions are up and running until the 10 of March, so people like myself who couldn't participate last week have the chance to create and enter their creations.

Here is my entry to challenge/ competition No 1 - hÄnglar & Wings

The criteria was to use at least on stamp by hÄnglar&Wing. I used one of my favourites "Livräddare", perfect as we are a family of sailors and lifesavers. My husband is part of the Swedish Sea Rescue and knows his CPR. All of our four children are qualified lifesavers/lifeguards, so they know their first aid and CPR too, and I'm a nurse. I also used the stamp set "FikaErika" for the birthday greeting-

Take care, keep crafting and have fun!
