AAA Birthday Game #45 - Anything Birthday Goes

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy New Year,

I hope you've had a good ending to 2022, and a great start to 2023!

Do you make birthday cards, and do you like card challenges?

Then AAA Birthday is the perfect place for you.
Every month we have a new challenge for you, and as of today the challenges starts on the 1st of the month, and runs throughout the whole month. So let's get started with the first challenge of 2023, game 45 - Anything Birthday Goes.

 


January is my grandmother's birthday month, and her favourit flowers were tulips. Every birthday my grandfather would give my grandmother a huge bouquet of tulips, a "tradition" I took over after he passed away. My grandmother passed away in 2020, but every January I still get a bouquet of tulips for her and my grandfather on her birthday.

Diecember at Pyssloteket/ Pysslojul2022

 Hello again,

From the 1st of December to the 24th Pyssloteket hosted a Diecember challenge based on lyrics of Christmas songs, both Swedish and English ones. Unfortunately I didn't manage to do them all as time and supplies ran out, but here's my entries

These were my takes on the challenges. I have so many ideas for the remaining prompt and maybe I'll use those in the future.

AAA Cards Challenge Game 230 - Moodboard

 Hello and Happy Third Sunday of Advent,

It's crazy how time flies, already time for the last challenge of 2022 at AAA Cards. We are ending the year with a moodboard for you, so much to draw inspiration from.

Here's the cue card



I took inspiration from the picture of Santa and his reindeers infront of the moon, the snow, the blues and the over all feeling of winter and christmas, and here's what I came up with

I started of by creating two masks by die cutting a small circle and a tree border out of some sticky note paper. I placed both maskes on my card panel, and then it was time to ink blend the night sky. After the ink blending was done I removed the masks to reveal the tree border and the moon. I stamped Santa and his reindeers infront of the moon, added some white dots randomly over the sky and stamped my sentiment.

AAA Birthday Game #44 - Embossing

 Hello Crafty Friends,

It's the last "first Monday of the month" for the year of 2022, and time for a new challenge at AAA Birthday (there will be changes in 2023, please read further down on the page). For the month of December we like to see birthday cards with embossing, it can be dry embossing or heat embossing, or both, whichever you prefer.

Here's my take on the challenge

I started of by masking of my card panel leaving a small rectangle in the middle, which I then ink blended in happy vibrant colours (love how the yellow and pink makes a gorgeous orange). Once I was done with the ink blending I dry embossed my panel using one of my favourite embossing folders. It doesn't show on camera but I have "dusted" the coloured rectangle with some perfect pearl to give the colours a little shine, it looks so pretty IRL and gives a good contrast to the rest of the background. The cute little flower girl is stamped, coloured and fussy cut before attached to the card front with foam squares. The sentiment/greeting is stamped and heat embossed. So as you can see I went with both dry and heat embossing, but you don't have to.

As said this is the last challenge at AAA Birthday for 2022, but we will be back with a new fun birthday challenge on the 1st of January 2023.

"Hang on that can't be right the 1st of January is not the first Monday of the month, it's not even a Monday" you might think and that's correct. As of next year AAA Birthday challenges will start on the 1st of each month, no matter what day of the week it is.
